WILD HORSES: Impeach Bob Abbey

Article Two of the United States Constitution, Section 4, states “The President, Vice President, and all Officers of the United States shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of Treason, Bribery, or other High Crimes and Misdemeanors."

This means that the President, Vice-President, Cabinet Secretaries, and other executive officers, as well as judges, may be impeached by the House of Representatives and tried in the Senate.

Jefferson's Manual Section LIII, 603 states that citizens can petition through what is called a "memorial."

Steps to Take

If you wish to be part of a citizen movement to impeach Robert V. (Bob ) Abbey, Director, Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Department of the Interior, we urge you to take action today.
The memorial petition points to violations of the Free-Roaming Wild Horse and Burro Act of 1971 and the Information Quality Act, and the fraudulent use of taxpayer dollars.
  • Download and print both documents in their entirety, and read through them carefully.
  • If you agree with its content, write in the information requested on the blank lines, sign and date the Petition (before a Notary if possible).  Prepare the Cover Letter in the same way (it does not need to be notarized).
  • The documents are in pdf to preserve their integrity. Please write legibly when filling out these documents.
  • The Petition is a very important document. We highly recommend that you have your signature notarized.  However, it is optional.  You can send the Petition to Congress without your signature being notarized.

Many office service retailers, delivery companies,  banks and libraries provide notary service.  It normally costs a dollar or two.
  • Remember when having a document notarized, you must sign it in front of the Notary officer.  If you are having your signature notarized, leave the signature section at the bottom of page 2 blank.
  • Send the completed Petition and cover letter by first class mail or fax to your U.S. Representative in Washington D.C. and any other legislators in the U.S. House you feel are sensitive and sympathetic to the extinction of America's wild horses and burros.
  • You can send these documents, by law, to anyone in the U.S. House of Representatives.  You do not have to a constituent. This is referenced in the cover letter.
  • Please be sure to keep a copy of your finished documents!
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us by email.
