Thank you!

To all of you who read here regularly, I'd like to say thank you. I know most of you (not all!) would like to see horse slaughter END here in the U.S., in Canada, and in Mexico. A lofty goal!  Right now about all we can do to end slaughter is to spread the word. Our Congress in Washington, D.C. can't seem to get much of anything done, and they have stopped listening to the American people. Yes, both sides, both parties. This is not political as much as it is a complete failure of our leaders in government to face the fact that they work for us! NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND!

OK. So, I didn't come here to make a political speech. I DO know that many of you help by trying to save horses going to slaughter, and that is one way we can make a difference. I applaud all of you.

I came here today to make a personal plea at a personal level. I was always taught to "think globally, but act locally." In other words, do what you can in your own locale. Act where you can make a difference in your own community.

A little pony named Candy here in our own community needs your help. She is the neighbor of a friend, and she was viciously attacked by a dog recently. Now she is fighting for her life, and the family and Candy really need your help. She was actually recovering nicely from some pretty terrific wounds, but she has now suffered some complications. Updates are available from time to time at the site.

Here is just one picture to give you an idea of how serious this is.

As you can see, this little girl is going to need medical attention for weeks, or possibly months.

HERE is how you can help. Please consider giving just a little. A donation of $5.00 or $10.00 by many people will make a HUGE difference.

I thank you. Candy's family thanks you. Candy thanks you!
