Bill BrownChannel 2 NewsProtestors showed up in front of the State Capitol today targeting a law that would remove wild horses and burros from being considered wildlife when it comes to allocating water resources on the range.
Bill backers say there are too many horses and they are devouring natural resources needed by livestock and indigenous wildlife. The protestors say that's not true...and the horses are actually a precious economic resource that should be used to drive even more tourist traffic to the state as gaming becomes less and less of a money factor.
The bill began in the Assembly as AB 329 and has now moved on to the Senate for final action.
