Yes we did, a great first step, thanks for your help.
The Ag Approps bill is scheduled to be considered by the House next week, though we do not know the exact day or whether an amendment to remove the defund language will be offered by the other side. Without further info, the only thing to do right now would be to contact House Members and ask that they oppose any attempt to remove the horse slaughter defund language if it is offered.

The Agriculture Appropriations Bill is scheduled to be considered by the House of Representatives the Week of June June 25, 2012. Please OPPOSE any attempt to remove James Moran’s Amendment to Prohibit Funding of USDA Inspections at Horse Slaughter Houses in the United States.

Please ONLY Vote YES on the Bill IF it INCLUDES James Moran’s Amendment to Prohibit Funding of USDA Inspections at Horse Slaughter Houses in the United States.

I do NOT want my TAX Dollars spent for Funding of USDA Inspections at Horse Slaughter Houses. It is OUTRAGEOUS that Special Interests will receive Subsidies on Horse Slaughter Plant and income tax breaks. I do NOT want a further financial burden added to our currently compromised Food Budget of the USDA.. The Devastation of towns and the burden on their local economy and local governments where Horse Sllaughter Plants are located will totally destroy their economy and surrounding ecosystems.
