Fed’l Agency Criticized for Proceeding with Costly Mustang Removal Despite Cost-Saving Alternative
For Immediate Release – Washington, DC (January 25, 2011) . . . The American Wild Horse Preservation Campaign (AWHPC), a broad-based coalition, is asking two U.S. Senate Committees with oversight over the U.S. Interior Department’s Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to direct the agency to halt a massive mustang roundup currently underway in the Antelope Complex in northeastern Nevada. In a letter sent yesterday, AWHPC urged the Appropriations Committee and the Energy and Natural Resources Committee to hold the BLM accountable for forging ahead with the costly mustang roundup despite a cost-saving alternative offered by philanthropist and businesswoman Madeleine Pickens and her Saving America’s Mustangs Foundation.   MORE...
