Comment on Massive Planned California Roundup
BLM plans to remove nearly 2000 wild horses and burros from the Twin Peaks herd management area of Northern California late this summer or fall. BLM is accepting comments on their scoping plan for this roundup until March 5th. Take Action Here and be sure to customize the sample letter so that your words count. Again it appears that BLM has greatly inflated the numbers in this herd area and has failed to set the "appropriate managment level" for wild horses and burros at an appropriate level. Read more about the Twin Peaks horses here.

Tell Senators & Salazar to Keep Wild Horses West
Interior Secretary Salazar is now presenting the 2011 Budget for the BLM to Congress. Pleae contact your Senators and let them know that you don't want your tax dollars being spent to move thousands of wild horses off our public lands to Eastern "SalaZoos."
Read the latest Cloud Foundation press release for more information.
Call & write your Senators Today!
Main DC switchboard: 202-224-3121
1. Don't grant BLM taxpayer funds to move wild horses East. We are not out of room in the West for wild horses.
2. Protect wild horses & burros in the West in their homes- on our public lands.
3. Wild horses are not overpopulating the west nor are they starving. There are now more wild horses in holding than in the wild and BLM plans to spend millions more to round up thousands of horses and burros this year and next.

Calico Update
At least 69 horses have died and 35 late term abortions have been reported as a result of the winter Calico Roundup. The death toll rises daily in the Fallon Holding facilty... continued here
