Editorial: BLM must improve treatment of horses during its roundups

If ever there was an agency caught between the proverbial rock and hard place, it's the Bureau of Land Management, especially when it tries to meet its obligation to manage the wild horses on the public lands.

That has been apparent throughout the ongoing controversy about the BLM's current horse roundups, controversy that came to a head late last month when cameras caught a mustang's distress during a helicopter-led roundup in eastern Nevada.MORE...
