Another Instance of "Misguided" SMALL Minds

A small insignificant organizaion supposedly designed to help sight-disabled people and their guide dogs has decided that our Sheriff Joe Arpaio is not "good enough" to deliver their keynote address at an up-coming meeting of their group.

How SAD.

As most of you know, Sheriff Joe Arpaio has come to our aid on many occasions and is a STAUNCH supporter of ALL animals. Guess these guide dogs don't think so.

Arpaio says group withdrew his speaking invitation

Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio says an advocacy group for guide dog users withdrew its invitation for him to serve as keynote speaker at its national convention in Phoenix next month because of his enforcement of immigration laws.
The sheriff was scheduled to speak to the group Guide Dog Users about his animal welfare programs.
But the group's treasurer, Jane Sheehan, says some of its board members raised concerns about the sheriff's civil rights record and his immigration efforts.
The group's board recently voted 6-5 to withdraw Arpaio's speaking invitation.
The sheriff says the lobbying began one day after Gov. Jan Brewer approved the state's new immigration law.
