Calico mustangs now out of sight and out of reach, in spite of advocates' pleas

On December 29th, 2009, 22 wild horses from the Calico Mountain range were trucked into a temporary BLM feedlot facility in Fallon, Nevada.  Nineteen hundred more would follow in their wake, where they would be separated from their family bands, pushed into crowded, unprotected holding pens, forced to brave the elements--cold, wind, snow, hail, sandstorms, and heat--and be poked and prodded and gelded and tagged, all without recourse or escape.
