What can just one person do to help save our nation's wild horses?  A lot more than you might think.
Wild Horse Annie borrowed the power of children throughout the United States to gain protections for our wild ones .  The Free Roaming Wild Horse and Burro Act was born in 1971 through her efforts.  Each child that wrote a letter on behalf of the wild ones that year can take credit for saving a horses life.
The years have destroyed protections gained and once again we have a battle before us. One person can make a difference..... YOU!
The Wild Horse and Burro Advisory Board will be eeting in Reno, Nevada on Moday, Dec. 7 The deadline has passed to mail your childs letter for consideration  But don't lose heart. Terri Farley, author of the famous "Phantom Stallion" children's book series, is standing ready to act as your personal Pony Express.  She has launched a post card campaign . All you have to is:
  • Go to Terri's website  here
  • chose a postcard.
  • Type in your childs message, name and age
  • send it to: wildhorsepower@aol.com
      How easy is that?
Teri will print it out, hop on her trusty steed, and deliver your message at the meeting.....LIVE!                                    (Well.....maybe she won't actually ride through the city streets on her trusty steed.                                             But, trust me, she'll get it  there)
By the way, we are all children at heart.  You can chose a postcard for your own letter.  I know I will.
Hurry now.  Time is short.
