Horse rescued after falling in tank in Montgomery County

Chron.com

It took a neighborhood effort to rescue a horse stuck in a septic tank in Montgomery County, KHOU reported Thursday.
Magnolia firefighters and Precinct 5 deputies, along with more than a dozen neighbors, helped rescue the animal after he was found in a tank near the 35000 block of Overlook.
Mary Baer, 18, who’s had the horse since she was 7 years old, noticed her big pet missing when she went to feed him. Baer then followed the horse’s tracks and found him stuck in a neighbor’s tank.
One of the rescuers, Jacob Sample, said it took about half an hour for 11 men to pull the horse out of the tank. The horse suffered only minor scratches.
“If I had a child, this would be my baby, Baer told KHOU. “He’s my everything.”
