New Organization devoted to protection of Salt River wild horses

A press release sent out today announced the forming of a new organization with the sole purpose of working to protect the Salt River wild horses of Arizona.
Controversy has surrounded the herd as these animals have no formal designation under law for protection or management. Although these animals have been well documented in the area since before the passage of the 1971 Wild Free Roaming Horse and Burro Act, no official territory for management was declared within the Forest Service land they occupied. This lack of official channel to address management issues has led to waves of misinformation and frustration among members of the public concerned with the welfare of these amazing horses.   Read MORE...
