Be it this Writer’s Mouth or Backside; What Comes Out All Smells the Same
High up on a mountain, far, far away sits a man with his chin resting on his clenched fist; deep in thought, exuding an almost godly aura of deep concentration when suddenly a lightning bolt lands beside him, he jumps to his feet, looks up to the heavens and screams;
“I’ve got it; I finally have got it dear God. Let’s turn our native American Wild Horses into DOG FOOD!”
Jerry Shenk, you are no American Thinker, you are a USDA approved, blue blooded, died in the wool American STINKER!!.
Just when you think it can’t get any stupider another self-proclaimed prophet of intellectual prowess opens his mouth and loads of road apples come pouring out only to splat on the ground before him, unbelievable. Being so sure of oneself while displaying the characteristics of a deranged clown has to be a heavy burden to bear.
On the website, American Thinker, (which purports to be devoted to the exploration issues of importance to Americans) one Jerry Shenk postulates and pontificates on the (Congressional Follies, 111th Edition). Personally, I don’t give a gnat’s arse on what this author thinks or even who he is let alone the short comings of our Congressmen as we are all too aware of said insensitivity to important issues, but to land on the topic of wild horses and make light, defame and disparage these most significant icons is beyond reproach. Excerpt below:
“H.R. 1018 passed the House on July 17, 2009, by a vote of 239 to 185 (Roll Call 577).The bill, titled the “Restore Our American Mustangs” Act, is a welfare program for wild mustangs. That’s right, welfare for horses. Not only did the House squander time on this matter, but they’re willing to squander $700 million of our tax money to fund it.
Among other provisions, the ROAM Act mandates a horse census every two years, provides “enhanced contraception” and birth control for horses, and sets aside an additional 19 million acres of public and private land for wild mustangs.
Frankly, we were unaware that wild mustangs used birth control. The bill is not specific about what forms of birth control the House approved or why it favored those methods. Did members choose equine condoms, chemical methods, or intra-uterine devices? Will stallions or mares be responsible for birth control? Will members of Congress “administer” this new equine policy? Or will American taxpayers be on the hook for a new bureaucracy of horse pimps and procurers on the federal payroll?
An easier, less expensive solution to the wild mustang conundrum can be captured in the following two-word phrase: “Dog food.” But when has Congress ever transformed a perceived problem into a revenue stream?”
Considering the hundreds of wild horses and burros that the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and their hired contractors have killed this year there is very little humor in Shenks words. Insensitive, elitist and ignorant is the only way to describe the smart-ass and flippant comments made as tens of thousands of wild horses, stripped from their lands and pulled from their families, languish in government holding facilities simply waiting to die. It sickens me beyond words.
It’s just this sort of rank ignorance that has put our national treasures into the situation that they are in this day and it is this kind of junk journalism that perpetuates the misconceptions and inaccuracies pouring from the BLM on a daily basis.
It’s got to stop and we are the ones to do it. Respond quickly, be swift of foot, counter the lies and enlighten the world, that’s our job and we do it well

Write the Stinker Shenk at jshenk2010@gmail.com and tell him what you think; politely now, you can do better than me, I am just venting for all of us, and spread the word amongst your friends and family, be a shining white star for the horses, let them know the facts, the future and what we are up against.
And last but not least, remember and revel in the fact that you are not alone; we are together and growing in number every day. There is hope, we shall succeed, it’s only that for the sake of the horses it needs to be today rather than tomorrow, but it will come.
Keep the faith and be heard, the horses are counting on us.
